I was just chopping garlic for dinner and thought of Hans. I think of Hans every time I chop garlic because he taught me the best way to do it, holding the tip of a big knife steady with my left hand and moving the handle up and down to chop with my right. This makes the best, uniform, tiny little pieces of garlic, releasing all the wonderful, anti-vampire fragrance.
I really like garlic so I think of Hans about three times a week. Specifically. And wonder how he's doing these days. I was happy to read that bit at the end of the newsletter about him and Zoe living across the river from Kirk. Crazy. I bet they have fun together. I wonder if they go on canyon time every now and then. For kicks.
I don't. I should.
Anyway, that's all. Nice blog, Lise.
